Informatec Announces Leadership Succession and Transfers Operational Management to Internal Executive Team

After 28 years at the helm of Informatec, Rino Mentil is initiating the transfer of operational responsibility to the next generation of leadership. Christian Fischer, Oliver Ruf, and Flávio Soares - all long-standing employees and partners of the company - will assume operational management responsibilities. Rino Mentil will remain with Informatec as Chairman of the Board of Directors and will continue to support the new management team as Strategic Advisor and in selected projects. Margarida Mentil will oversee the transition in her area of responsibility before leaving the company following a transition period.

Experienced Leadership and Industry Expertise

From July 1, 2026, Informatec will be operationally led by Christian Fischer, Oliver Ruf, and Flávio Soares. Together, they bring more than 50 years of combined experience in the company’s core business areas and have worked closely and successfully together for many years. 

Christian Fischer, the new CEO of Informatec and direct successor to Rino Mentil, has been with the company for approximately 18 years. As Head of Sales and Managing Director of Informatec Germany, he has been responsible for customer acquisition and the support of more than 400 SME and enterprise customers. His close customer relationships, strong market understanding, and extensive experience in building sustainable client partnerships provide a solid foundation for leading Informatec into its next phase of growth as a Data & AI specialist.

Oliver Ruf, the new Chief Operating Officer (COO), has also been with Informatec for more than 18 years. In his previous role as Head of Consulting & Projects, he was responsible for the successful delivery of several hundred BI and data analytics projects, as well as an increasing number of AI-related data initiatives across various industries. Together with his team, he has successfully implemented complex data and AI projects, building powerful data platforms that enable informed decision-making, efficient processes, and tangible business value for customers.

Flávio Soares will assume the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). He has served as Head of Technology & Solutions at Informatec for the past 17 years. In this role, he has been responsible for the technological advancement of modern data platforms, data analytics, and AI solutions. His focus lies in developing scalable architectures and high-performance Data & AI solutions. In addition, he oversees a portfolio of industry solutions developed over many years, as well as the company’s proprietary product iVIEW. He also manages Informatec’s technology-focused office in Lisbon, Portugal, further strengthening the company’s international innovation capabilities. 

Well Positioned for the Future 

After 28 years of entrepreneurship, numerous strategic milestones, and the successful development of an established Data & AI specialist company, founder Rino Mentil is stepping back from day-to-day operational management: “For me, it was essential to find a solution that combines continuity with a strong future perspective. With Christian, Oliver, and Flávio, a well-coordinated team is taking over that knows Informatec inside out while also bringing fresh momentum and new ideas. I am convinced that this positions the company optimally for the years ahead.”  With the transfer of operational leadership, a key milestone in the succession process has now been completed. As part of this transition, Margarida Mentil will also step down from her role as CFO following a transition period. The company’s long-term ownership structure will be addressed in a subsequent step.
